MOOC COURSE

MOOC Course on Organic Farming is offered to all students doing first year UG Programmes in the College as added credit course. The course is structured in accordance with the regulations of UGC for Online courses and it is made compulsory by the University. The course spread across first and second semester of the UG Programme. The Course has 14 Modules including 2 Projects. The 4 credits of this course will be given in addition to the Total credits of UG Programmes existing now.

Registered students will be provided with username and password, by using which the course content can be accessed. Even though the programme is offered as an online course, the course has a practical component to it (one project for first and second semester). For the first semester project student asked to cultivate any 5 crop like Bhindi, Brinjal, Bush Cowpea, Chilly, Ginger, Tapiaco, Turmeric, Amaranthus in 0.5 cent of land or 25 grow bags in their house premise. For the second semester, the students have to prepare organic manure making out of kitchen waste or garden waste. The students are doing their project very successfully.

Dr Roni Jain Raju, is the Co-Ordinator of this programme and there are 10 faculty mentors for giving assistance to the students for doing the MOOC Course.
