Department Profile

The Department of Physics was established in 1964 with the very inception of the college and it has emerged as one of the best learning centres in physics. The department was upgraded as a postgraduate department in the year 1998. The department offers one graduate course and one postgraduate course with specialisation in electronics. Currently the department has a faculty strength of seven members of which two hold Ph.Ds. There is one recognized research guide in the department and all the faculty members are engaged in active research in the fields of Astrophysics, Material Science, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. The department faculties have undertaken and successfully completed projects from UGC and KSCSTE. The department has also produced many university-level rank holders.
